Kortenberg sports hall in the spotlight!

Colomba sports hall in Kortenberg received a beautiful mural by Toon van Ishoven, one of the Flemish Primitives when it comes to murals in our region.

People voted for the various designs by our artist. The design entitled ("Het Kantelpunt") "The Tipping Point" won the election and is now displayed on the sports hall wall.

1. The tipping point

With this design, the artist wants to emphasise that our globe is at an important point in its history. Mankind is literally searching for the balance for a healthy cooperation with our planet. It is becoming increasingly clear that we are at a tipping point. It is make or break. Today's generations are working on tomorrow's future, looking for a balanced lifestyle that respects our planet. And of course, we can only encourage this.

2. Galactic movement

With the key word "movement" in mind, the artist started work on a design that captures the essence of life very well - after all, time never stands still and man is always on the move. This gigantic astronaut makes it clear to the young sportsmen and women here that no mountain is too high and you have to believe in your dreams! The planets in the background have been transformed into flying balls that symbolise all the possibilities you have in your (sports) life.
