This female Spanish artist experimented with a bunch of art forms in her younger years: Practicing dance, creating installations, participating in public art, you name it! It soon came to her attention that there was something missing.
After a few years of school and practice it became clear: She just had to paint on the streets. To this day Julieta is doing what she loves, mostly in cities around the med. Her street art pieces are to be found in all sizes, featuring female figures with a certain elegance and a soft vibe. Entwined in natural elements and mythical settings they bathe in vibrant colours that will simply take you away.
Words of her own: “In my work, women are the heroines of their adventures and nature is my muse. Everything I find, I discover, it’s already in nature.”
What matters most for her is that people should smile (and feel) at the first time they see one of her works, but more importantly that they don’t have to feel indifferent. It should make them think about what they want. Something that is often forgotten by many. A key element for her works is that the presence on the streets is limited. The toll that weather and time take on her pieces is part of the process. No matter the city in which she creates a piece, she creates it with the knowledge that it won't look the same the next day. It might even disappear completely. The magical women will fade just as quickly as the artist brought them to life.
Julieta loves to travel, to meet people and discover cultures. Together with the XLF crew she organized a handful of events and projects, and will continue to do so in the future. There’s much more to tell, but as the saying goes: a picture says more than a thousand words...
