Dazzlingly vibrant and playfully grown-up is the work of Brazilian graffiti artist and illustrator Loro Verz. After graduating from the Central Saint Martin’s School of Art and Design in 2001, he has exhibited in cities around the world and transformed many spaces with his art. In the last few years, Loro Verz has done commissions for the big brands such as Adidas and Puma, but spends his time mostly on murals and decorative objects. The Southern American mentality is ever-present in his work, often colourful and cheerful in its being. Just like a handful of other artists, he became comfortable with blending old styles – from ancient American civilizations – with modern day graffiti and a hint of cartoony pop art. Usually starting out with an idea in his head, he continues his work inspired by the setting and mood around him. In this way, every passer-by can have a different interpretation on the work of art. He firmly believes that art is a strong factor in changing lives, and can give hope and a new meaning of life for all people in our society.
