Mots is an urban artist, painter and illustrator who has been living in Porto since 1993. Here he studied and developed almost all his works, with graffiti having a strong presence in his journey. Graffiti has always had a strong influence in his graphic style, used techniques and the way he approaches the relationship between art and space. The desire to create murals has never ceased. The constant search for a better relation between the imaginative world, the space and the reality of the spectator moves him forward, with murals being a window to his imagination. Just like the way dreams work, the artist uses random memories to create new stories in the form of murals. They start from the deconstruction and abstraction of the form and are built with figures composed of elements and parts from other formats. Mots is an author of dozens of murals and large-scale paintings around Portugal, Poland and Brazil. The biggest piece done by the artist was created in 2017 in downtown Porto near the iconic Douro river, now a part of its panoramic view.
