DOODLE TAKE OVER IN BRUSSELS CENTRAL
Brussels city hosted an open call for street artists to artsify a wall next to a high school. We jumped on it like it was 1999 and sent out a handful designs from our artists. To our surprise, the chosen artist was Mr. Doodle! We immediately got started on this renovation-transformation project!
Upon arrival, we met the people of Brucity and received the keys of the ‘magical’ scissor lift. When we figured out how to get the blue beast prancing, we mixed some paint and started with the white base layer. A really thirsty one, this wall! The following morning an astonishing appearance joined the scene… Mr. Doodle walked up to us in his own fully customized be-doodled suit, ready as ever to get this 40 square meter wall done. In one day.
Before you know it, the spray cans are out and the lift is up. And for sure we can’t say it’s Belgium without the Belgian weather. For some reason it was 33* C, and thanks to the bright and shiny wall you could not see much without welding glasses. Obviously, these things don’t stop the doodle-machine. As the canvas is white and his head full of ideas, things turned around quickly. Working right next to the school has clearly inspired him, as you can see in the many details that are in this humongous piece of art.
Some say he’s The Flash, but for us it’s just a pleasure to watch everything come together at a high-speed pace. You don’t even need a timelapse recording to see it going faster than usual. At sundown we were sitting outside with a beer in hand on the terrace of some café, enjoying a new assignment finished.
