Tour Elentrik Bredene - seaside painting!
This summer we enjoyed the seaside...
Together with 17 local artists and 3 artists of the Treepack team, we painted electricity boxes all over the Bredene, a big town buzzing with life! Not only the beach was a pleasantry to the eyes, but these artists surely surprised us. Even for us it was a first to witness such a large amount of talent in a town of this size.
Our first visit was already spot on, when we met the locals and hosted a workshop for them. We talked through the basics, came up with themes and ideas for this edition of Tour Elentrik, and quickly went hands on with spray paint and stencils.
All the ideas that we came up with requested some experimenting, and this was a nice moment to practice.
A few weeks later the artists ventured onto the streets, and created stunning results. From the moment the first stroke of paint on the electricity boxes was set, some of the towns people already noticed us and spread 'the good words'. Before we knew it, the press was invited and we did our Tour Elentrik (the walking route that connects all artworks) with a handful of photographers and cameras in front of us.
It was truly an amazing experience to work with all of them, and made a lot of new friends that will hopefully be featured in one of our future projects!
Massive thanks to Gemeente Bredene for the incredible time, and Nonpaints.nl for the quick delivery of our cans and markers!
