3D street artist, painter
As well as being an artist, Vera Bugatti is famous as a Chalk artist (with the traditional Italian Madonnari technique) and 3D street painter – street artist – anamorphic artist – internationally acclaimed urban artist.
She worked in Italy, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Ireland, Croatia, Austria, Malta, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Russia, Latvia, Portugal, Bulgaria, USA, Mexico, Emirates and India, and much more countries are being added to that list every year.
Street painting, also commonly known as floor art, street art, and sidewalk art, is the performance art of rendering artistic designs on pavement such as streets, sidewalks, and town squares with semi-permanent or impermanent materials such as chalk. The traditional Chalk art was born with the first Italian pavement artists (the Madonnari) that have been traced to the sixteenth century. The contemporary Madonnari still work with ephemeral materials and often they reproduce famous sacred paintings. Today you can see original designs and new ways to narrate and to communicate messages all around.
"As a street painter my first job is to be a visual artist. I draw my characters with chalk on pavement, streets or sidewalks in urban public areas. The ephemeral nature of this Italian ancient art form has taught me how to communicate feelings instantaneously to the viewer because my work will disappear as soon as the wind blows, and as fast as the rain comes. My chalk pieces develop from heart, dream and mind through imagined and referenced sources, with nods toward art history and contemporary cultural iconography. “
Not only is Vera practiced in creating art on the surface we walk on every day, every once in a while she produces stunning murals that just blow you over.
